Canadian Psychological Association to Help Draft Disaster Guidelines

The Canadian Psychological Association has announced a new joint venture with the Public Health Agency of Canada to develop guidelines to help prepare the public and health professionals to deal with the psychological and social impact of public health emergencies. Based on the examples of 9/11 and the SARS crisis, failure to provide public health information can lead to critical delays in the implementation of public health and mental health interventions.
