Mr. Detective

I can't think of a reason why a person on her deathbed would lie to police about Mary Rogers Death? And Why nobody else suspected the suicide of her fiance? Knowing there is a third party the death of his fiancee would be at least, least painful? Why would he killed himself on the murder scene and not in from of Mary Roger's tomb? Any thoughts?

Plenty of people make false death bed confessions, especially someone who has changed their story in the past for media attention. It was a chance for the in keeper to get her last shot at attention/mild fame.

As for the fiance, he blamed himself for not worrying about her more, not going to check on her because of the rain storm. Always the question of "what if..... Would she still be alive?"

Also I assume the murder scene was a bid more secluded than the "tomb".. But I didn't see any information about that in this article.
